My wife and I moved to Minooka, southwest of Joliet and Chicago, in April of 1998, looking for that small town that was not too far from a big city but far enough not to live in it. We also liked the river, water sports, camping and outdoor activities the area has to offer.

The home that we purchased did not have any type of fencing and we wanted another dog, so that put me on a mission for a fence. The prices were outrageous and we did not like the idea of the feeling of confinement or the maintenance that you have with conventional fencing. We started investigating alternative solutions and one thing led to another and we found ourselves in the pet containment business in July of 1999.

I have always been a dog lover and was raised in a dog family. My parents were breeders of Rottweiler's and my mother was a judge for the AKC. So becoming a Dog Guard dealer was kind of a natural for me, and I love doing it.

It is such a rewarding feeling to know that we have made it possible for a dog to run free and safe on their own property and not be chained or caged. My wife loves dogs and is great for training our two labs Booker and Gunner.

Meet "my boys" Booker and Gunner. Booker is our 8 1/2 year old pure bred black lab. He ACTS LIKE a 113 lb. spoiled grumpy old man Gunner is a 2 1/2 year old, 140 lb. pure bred chocolate lab. My dogs have NEVER escaped our Dog Guard containment system!
